The
Nova Luna Center for Eating Disorders is the first center of its
kind in the Hawaiian Islands. Located on the beautiful island of
Maui, the Center currently offers an Intensive Outpatient Program
and a Day Treatment Program for adult and adolescent women. The
Intensive Inpatient Residential facility is under construction and
due to open in late 2006.
We
take pride in providing high quality, multi-disciplinary, medically-supervised
eating disorder treatments. Clinical Director, Michelle Villanti, LCSW,
BCD, CSAC, a social worker with a long managerial history, will supervise
all clinical staff, while Natalie Leon, Program Director, will direct
daily operations for the center. Chief Financial Officer, Leili Welpton
will oversee all financial affairs.
Ms. Villanti, LCSW, BCD, CSAC directed the highly reputed “Ai
Pono” program at their current location in Maui. Concurrently,
Ms. Villanti, developed the first Equine Assisted Psychotherapy program
on Maui. With the innovations developed by Ms. Villanti, the program
is called “NOVA LUNA” and is a HMSA provider.
The
programs of the Institute will be formulated on the core principles
that Ms. Villanti has developed and implemented successfully:

• Involvement of peers and family
• Incremental lifestyle change
The
Nova Luna Center is a provider for the following insurance companies:
HMSA, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Kaiser, Aetna Multiplan, State Farm,
and American Family. We are currently in the process of being JCHACO
accredited.
