The Nova
Luna Center is comprised of compassionate, nurturing and educated
professionals who treat each patient individually with personal attention
and care. We emphasize safety with each client and we believe that
recovery from an eating disorder is possible when our clients surrender
to the process of self discovery. It is through this process that
the most beautiful gift is discovered; the gift of self-worth.
Our treatment
focuses on an integrative mind, body and spirit connection utilizing
many different modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapies,
Jungian, Psychodynamic, Equine Assisted Therapy, and Experiential
approaches. We also recognize therapeutic modalities such as Yoga,
Meditation, Acupuncture, Body Work, Emotional Freedom Technique, and
Sensory Integration as necessary in treating patients with eating
disorders.
Nova Luna
emphasizes intuitive eating to help clients get in touch with the
feelings of hunger and fullness; feelings that have been long disconnected.
We discourage the labeling of food and behaviors as “good”
and “bad.” Instead, we look at the meaning behind the
particular beliefs and behaviors that come up around food. Certain
food “lifestyles” are taken into consideration after close
assessment that these preferences are in the best interest of the
overall health of the client. We respect each individual’s culture
and religion and encourage personal exploration of a sense of identity.
The Nova
Luna Philosophy supports each individual’s discovery of a positive
body image. We challenge cultural and media pressures to pursue unrealistic
beauty standards. We promote healthy bodies of all shapes and sizes.
Here at Nova Luna we plant a healthy seed of hope so that it may grow
into a garden of love.
